My Project: The Truth In Sea Glass

I do not want my singleness to be wasted, and one way I believe God is using it is in my novel The Truth In Sea Glass

I love reading books, and while I have found many amazing nonfiction books about singleness, I have yet to find any novels that address this subject. Honestly I am tired of reading books about girls and their perfect worlds with their perfect boyfriends. I want to read a realistic story about a girl who maybe doesn't have a boyfriend, who struggles with her desires, and learns about singleness and life and surrendering to God. So I decided to write that novel.

Book Synopsis: Krissa Walker is a freshman at Baywood University with three desires: for her new school to become her home, to write novels someday, and to have a boyfriend. But as the semester begins to unfold, she is still just trying to survive. Her friends and family from home are a thousand miles away, her roommates still feel like strangers, no guy is pursuing her, and memories from her past haunt her dreams. Even the sea glass on her beloved beach has seemed to disappear. As Krissa writes a fairy tale connecting all of her desires, will she be able to survive her first year of college, give her desires to God, and find healing while finally grieving her past?
This contemporary Christian novel portrays the realities of college life while dealing with themes of desire, grief, and surrendering to the will of God.

I only just reached the halfway mark of my novel, but I wanted to share with you a more tangible way that God is working in my life and using my singleness for His glory. As I write, I pray this will not only help me with my desires, but will eventually help many young women like me on this journey called singleness.
